We are looking for people willing to assist us in the very important job of preserving the history and heritage of the Magoffin Home. We hope that you will consider becoming a volunteer and your experience here will bring you the satisfaction and joy of knowing you made a difference. We welcome you to our team.

Volunteer Opportunities

The museum provides volunteers with opportunities to learn new things as well as to participate in the social interaction that comes from working with others.

Volunteers can be interpretive docents and lead tours, work as researchers and writers, help preserve collections, assist in the office or with marketing, become part of our living history program, work on the grounds or in the workshop, or help with special events. Volunteers are placed according to their interests and abilities.

Training Requirements

The Volunteer Program provides training and educational opportunities designed to prepare volunteers for assigned duties. A schedule of upcoming training sessions will be provided to volunteers at least twice a year. All volunteers are required to attend at least three training sessions each year and interpretive docents must attend at least five.

For more information about volunteer opportunities at the Magoffin Home, please contact Ronnie Aguilar at 915.533.5147 or by email.
